PICKENS, SC - Henry Eugene 'Gene' McJunkin, 92, of Easley Retirement Center, formerly of Pumpkintown Highway, died April 5, 1996, at Baptist Medical Center, Easley.
Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Ephrem Nathaniel and Sallie Elizabeth Banks McJunkin.
He was a retired dairy and produce farmer and was a member of Griffin Baptist Church, where he was former deacon, church treasurer and served in many other capacities.
He was the last member of the Ephrem Nathaniel and Sallie Elizabeth McJunkin family.
Surviving are three sons, W. Harold McJunkin and Donald E. McJunkin, both of Pickens, and B. F. McJunkin of Liberty; three daughters, Azilee M. Evette and Nannie Bet M. Boggs, both of Pickens, and Ellen M. Boggs of Easley; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Williams McJunkin on April 25, 1983; a daughter, Blanche M. Tucker on September 20, 1986; and a grandson, James Thomas Boggs Jr. on August 25, 1968.
Memorials may be made to Griffin Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1629 Pumpkintown Highway, Pickens, S.C. 19671.
Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at Dillard Memorial funeral Home Chapel, Pickens, with Dr. Buddy Moore and Dr. Lloyd Batson officiating.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
Visitation: 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of B. F. and Sue McJunkin, 174 Gantt Springs Road, Liberty.
