PICKENS, SC - Iler Dean McJunkin, 74, retired carpenter and farmer of Fox Squirrel Ridge, Route 1, Pickens, died at a Greenville hospital at 11 a.m. Tuesday after five years of declining health and a week of illness.
He spent his entire life in Pickens County, son of the late E. N. and Sally Banks McJunkin. He was a member of Keowee Lodge 79, AFM, and Griffin Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillie Lynch McJunkin; a son, Dean McJunkin of Pickens; a daughter, Mrs. Launa Tucker of Savannah, Georgia; five brothers, Hubert McJunkin of Six Mile, Wyatt McJunkin of Greenwood, Elbert N., Julius and H. Eugene McJunkin of Pickens; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Gardner and Mrs. Sybil Eskew of Greenville; and three grandsons.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Clayton - Dillard Funeral Home by Rev. G. B. Freeman. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Masonic rites.
Pallbearers will be Perry Rampey, Rembert Jones, Fulton, E. F., J. C., Guy, Paul and Harold McJunkin.The family requests that memorials be omitted.The body is at the mortuary.
