Stephen B. Dotson

Stephen Burnett Dotson, 66, a 59-year resident of Olympia, died of heart failure Wednesday, July 17, 1996, in St. Peter Hospital, Olympia.

Mr. Dotson was born Oct. 19, 1929, in Wenatchee to John G. and Susie E. (Riley) Dotson.

He married Ruth Fletcher in Centralia on March 9, 1957.

Mr. Dotson served in the Air Force in Guam from 1945 to 1949.

He was self-employed as a custom cabinet maker for 30 years. He owned Dotson's Custom Cabinet Shop and Remodeling.

Mr. Dotson enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed bowling recreationally and competitively, gardening and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, Olympia; five sons, Franklin L., Port Angeles, Miles R., Christopher A. and David E., all of Olympia, and Randall D. Rainier; four daughters, Janet R. Farmer, Sacramento, Calif., Sondra R. Groff and Donna M. Loomis, both of Port Angeles, and Sarah R. Bonnell, Olympia; a brother, Clinton O., Lacey; 35 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Susie; a son, Stephen D.; three brothers; and three sisters.

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, in Church of the Living Water Lambert Chapel, Olympia. Pastor Ken Spriggs will officiate.
