Glenna R. Wonderley

Glenna Rodgers Wonderley, 81, of Port Republic, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Harrisonburg.

Mrs. Wonderley was born May 8, 1926, in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late William Russell and Agnes Letitia Rodeffer Rodgers.

She was a member of Mount Olive Church of the Brethren and a former member of Port Republic United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Rockingham County Extension Homemakers Club for 50 years. She was also a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (Massanutten Chapter) and the United Daughters of the Confederacy (Turner Ashby Chapter).

On Sept. 2, 1944, she married Alden "Bill" Wonderley, who survives. They were married 63 years.

Also surviving are three daughters, Kaye W. Butler of Bradenton, Fla., Patricia F. Owens of Lovingston and Fonda W. Shifflett of Port Republic; two brothers, Everette C. Rodgers of McGaheysville and William R. Rodgers Jr. of Penn Laird; three sisters, Jane R. Blosser of Albuquerque, N.M., LaVan R. Meadows of Elkton and Agnes R. Raines of Keezletown; four grandchildren and one great- grandchild.

Pastor Fred Miller will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at the funeral home.
