Mrs. Edward (Bertha M.) Garmers of Alta, 78, died at 12:40 p.m. last Thursday in the Methodist Hospital in Peoria where she had been a patient one week.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bouton-Hammitt-Davison Funeral Home in Dunlap with Rev. Orville Roth officiating. Burial was in Princeville Cemetery.
She was born in Dunlap December 31, 1892, a daughter of Flavius and Margaret Harrison Barrett, and was married in Peoria March 29, 1921.
Surviving are a son, Ronald Garmers, and a daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Hazel) Brown, both of Alta; three grandchildren; three brothers, John Barrett of Wyoming, Leonard Barrett of Princeville, and Oswald Barrett of Dunlap; and five sisters, Mrs. Stella Carlin of Peoria, Mrs. Amanda Martzluf of Gilson, Mrs. Bessie Martzluf of Edelstein, Mrs. Eva Poole of Princeville, and Mrs. Gladys Worsfold of Dunlap.
Her husband, a stepson, a grandson, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Garmers was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
