Melinda, also known as Linda, Lindy, or May, married William Angus Buffenbarger, the son of Salmon M. and Malinda Powell Buffenbarger Herrick. William and Melinda were married January 19, 1892 in Clark County, Ohio, USA, by B. H. Zell, minister, and witnessed by A. Fitchen.

Melinda and William divorced at some point in time, and William married Effie Watkins Hair on April 8, 1909 in Franklin, Ohio, USA, who was 20 years younger than William. Effie had a son Benjamin Franklin Hair in 1903 by her first husband who is listed as Bennie Buffenbarger, 7 years old, on the 1910 census. His father Elvin Hair was still living, and I don't think William adopted the boy. Between 1909 and 1917 William and Effie had parted ways, and she is seen on the WW1 draft card 1917-1918 of Henry Alton Aldridge as his wife. It was during the time Benjamin was still a child as records show Henry had adopted Benjamin, thus the boy's last name legally changed from Hair to Aldridge. Benjamin married Josephine Harvey in 1929, and they had a son named Franklin Harvey Aldridge born May 7, 1930 in Illinois, USA.
There are no records showing that Melinda ever married again.
Melinda passed away February 11, 1943 in West Liberty, Perry Twp, Logan County, Ohio, USA. May our Great Grand Aunt Lindy rest eternally at peace with our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.
