TOWN'S OLDEST WOMAN, 96, DIES
Mrs. Elizabeth B. Markley, Resident Since 1876, to Be Buried Tomorrow
Mechanicsburg, Pa., Apr. 20. - The borough's oldest woman is dead. She is Mrs. Elizabeth B. Markley, who died at the age of 96 years after a prolonged illness. Mrs. Markley died late Tuesday night at the home of Mrs. Porter, in West Simpson street (sic).
She was the widow of Moses Markley, and had lived in the town, or near here, all her life. She was born on a farm in Monroe township, not far from the town. After her marriage, she lived on the Markley farm, at Trindle Springs. She has lived in the town since 1874.
She is survived by three sons, George, Harry B., of Mechanicsburg, and David M., of Harrisburg. Three grandchildren survive. The funeral will be held to-morrow afternoon, at 2 o'clock from the home of George Markley, in South Frederick street (sic).
