Martha Jane (Mullin) Spencer (92), of Anderson, Indiana passed away peacefully on December 4, 2021. She was born September 15, 1929 in Camden, Indiana, and was raised on the Mullin homestead farm. She graduated as class valedictorian of Rockfield High School, and then studied Nursing at Home Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana, where she was subsequently employed as Charge Nurse in Surgery in the early 1950's. Later, Martha was a nurse in the infant nursery of Saint John's Hospital in Anderson, Indiana.

She married Melvin Spencer on March 1, 1953. Martha and Mel resided in Anderson, Indiana, where they raised four children. She was very active at Bethany Christian Church for several years.

She is survived by four (4) children; John (Kimberlee) Spencer of Alvaton, KY, Beth (Dave) Mears of Richmond, IN, Mitchell (Brenda) Spencer of Carmel, IN, and Susan Spencer of Nashville, TN, four (4) grandchildren; Jason (Danielle) Spencer of Spring Hill, TN, Linde (Danny) Johnson of Bowling Green, KY, Craig Spencer of Oakland, CA, and Jenna (Nathaniel) Bammann of Indianapolis, IN, and two (2) great grandchildren; Jackson Spencer and Harrison Spencer of Spring Hill, TN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Melvin Spencer, her parents; Herman and Daisy (Berkshire) Mullin, four (4) sisters; Nancy Mullin, Amy (Mullin) Snipes, Adriene (Mullin) McCain, Geraldine (Mullin) Rice, and two (2) brothers; Donald Mullin, and David Mullin.

Funeral services will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 11, 2021 in Anderson, Indiana with Robert Bell officiating. The burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Martha to Bethany Christian Church, Anderson, IN.

The family requests that face-masks be worn by all visitors.
