On December 2nd, 2021, our mother Velma Arlene (Hagan) Blythe, born February 28, 1933, in Axtell, Nebraska, to Francis Frank Hagan of Belfast, Ireland, and Cora Rosalia Wilson of Chillicothe, Missouri went home to be with the Lord and is no longer suffering on this earth.
She moved to Lexington Nebraska as a young child where she took her schooling. She later moved to Blythe California in 1951 where she met her husband, Billy Joe Blythe. They were married July 18th, 1953, in Quartzsite, Arizona, and lived in Blythe California until 1981 when they moved to Brownwood, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill of 65 years, her daughter Dalyn Jonel and her sons Gregory and Darrell Glen, her parents Frank and Cora Hagan, six (6) sisters: Mary, Edith, Etta, Ellen, Ruth, Verla, and seventeen (17) brothers: Henry, Tom, Elmer, Francis, Floyd, Minor, Arthur, Roy, Edward, Rawlin, Earl, Alfred, Harold, Virgil, Kenneth, Clifford, and Gerald.
She leaves behind two daughters, Deborah Gaye (David) Price and Darla Jean (Bobby) Brewer both of Brownwood, one Brother Robert Lee (Janice) Hagan of Lexington, Nebraska, granddaughter's Melanie Rose Blythe of Hagatma, Guam, Shawna Rae (Chris) Hesketh of Austin, Kala Michelle Blythe of Early, Leice Monique Price of Brownwood, Jennifer Lea Price of Brownwood, Chelsea Arlene (Jeremy) Petras of Brownwood, Michelle Lynn (Joseph) Henson of Missouri, Grandson's Cody Glen (Bekka) Blythe of Fort Worth, Sky Dewayne Brewer of Brownwood, David Scott Price of Georgia along with twenty four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Velma loved her big family reunions, camping, fishing, music get-togethers, time spent with family and spending time with grandkids.
