Darrell Glen Blythe, age 63, of Early passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017, at home surrounded by his loved ones after a brave fight with cancer.

Graveside Services for Darrell will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the Zephyr Cemetery; visitation will be held prior to graveside service from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Darrell was born to Billy Joe and Velma Arleane (Hagan) Blythe on July 8, 1954, in Whittier, California.

After high school, Darrell proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Marine Mechanic.

He moved to Brownwood in 1987 and started a family.

He married Linda Lammons on June 19, 1987.

Darrell was a family man; he loved spending time with his family. He coached his kids in every sport they played, supporting them and being their biggest fan. The teaching and coaching continued when he had grandchildren; he loved teaching them how to golf, play the guitar, and everything about baseball. Darrell had many hobbies he enjoyed, which include fishing, camping, hunting, golfing, playing the guitar, and riding motorcycles.

Darrell leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Bill and Velma Blythe of Brownwood; wife, Linda Blythe of Early; son, Cody Blythe and wife Rebekah of Ft. Worth; daughters, Kala Blythe of Brownwood, Shawna Hesketh and husband Chris of Austin, Melanie Rosario and husband Anthony of Yigo, Guam; 6 grandchildren, Hagan Rasberry, Brady Blythe, Avery and Amelia Hesketh, Logan and Chance Rosario; and sisters, Darla Brewer and husband Bobby, Debbie Price and husband David. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by one of his sisters, Dalyn Blythe.
