George Washington Lowrance was born March 5, 1877 at Kerrville, Texas. He was the son of David Marion Lowrance and Finetti Jane (Keeton) Lowrance.
About 1900 George moved to Oklahoma Indian Territory. He was a farmer near Delhi, Oklahoma.
George married Amelia Sommers Scott, who was possibly born in Virginia (her 2nd marriage). They had one child, Bessie. He later married Ella Jane Woody. Their children were: Lonnie, Pearl, Eber, Gussie, Daisy, Cecil, Henry, Jean, and Rubye. Sometime after 1920, he and Ella divorced and he married Tennie McGuire in Collingsworth County, Texas in 1928.
George was a Deputy Sheriff in Greer County and in Beckham County for many years. He died August 26, 1941 at Sayre, Oklahoma and is buried at Spring Creek Cemetery with Ella.
