Jacob David Lowrance (Jake) was born October 22, 1879 at Kerrville, Texas. He was the son of David Marion Lowrance and Finetti Jane (Keeton) Lowrance. Several days after Jake was born his mother Finetti died. He was raised until the age of two by a family named Word. His father David Marion paid the expenses and furnished a cow.

The family moved to Oklahoma Indian Territory in 1900. Jacob worked for a survey Crew and also collected bills for a wagon company.

On December 21, 1903 Jacobe married Mary W. Culver. Their children were Willard, DeWitt, Miles, and Maudie Belle.

They lived near Willow, Oklahoma. Jacob David died February 6, 1964 and is buried at the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery next to Mary.
