"Olan was the quiet one. He was never sure of himself and had problems adjusting to new situations. He was the serious type. However, he liked sports. He played basketball in high school and continued to attend sports events during his adult years. He loved to work in his shop and was handy at building things. He served in the military very briefly during WWII. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge. He retired from an Arkansas based oil and gas company only shortly before his death from cancer. He is buried in Pryor Cemetery." Memories - Summer 1999, Arvis Harmon.
