"Gerald joined the navy after high school graduation in 1941 and served in the Pacific during WWII. He had degrees from Oklahoma State University and taught school in Oklahoma. In later life he had some problems which lead to an early medical retirement from the teaching profession. He died in 1992 from a heart attack brought on by diabetes."
