It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Frances, who succumbed peacefully to complications of Covid-19. She passed-away in Spicewood, Texas at the home of her only daughter, Deborah, and son-in-law, Joe Earl Wilkie. Frances was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. Her parents, Cecil and Bessie Raney, raised 7 children in the Shreveport area, where they spent the balance of their adult lives. Frances married George Durwood Springer on May 8, 1948 in Shreveport; but, began their married life in Houston, Texas. George found opportunity working for a major Houston-area Bottling Company and Frances worked downtown in high-rise building facilities operations, Soon afterward, God blessed Frances and George with a daughter and a new home in the Spring Branch area of Houston. Frances heard the calling to open her own business in the Beauty Salon service industry. Frances operated her Spring Branch business for 30 years – making lifelong customers and friends along the way.

Life changed for Frances in 1976, finding new life and love in the person of Ed Jeter. They married on June 19, 1976 and maintained their home in Spring Branch until Ed's death in 2007.

Frances will be remembered as a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, and a friend to many of her acquaintances that she made along life's journey. She was always quick to help a friend or neighbor in-need. She enjoyed family dinners and outings – especially trips to the Florida Emerald Coast for Thanksgiving vacations with her extended family. A devoted animal lover, her home was a testimony to the animal kingdom that she loved so much. Additionally, Frances was a life-long member of Long Point Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Denice Wilkie and her son-in-law, Joe Earl Wilkie of Spicewood, Texas; Grandson Brandon Shane Coker and wife Sandy Noble-Coker of Iowa Colony, Texas; Granddaughter Dore Denice Dunn and Misty Lewis of Tomball, Texas.
