Josephine Anna Goertz, 66, of Clayton died Sunday in Blessing hospital at Quincy, IL where she had been a patient for 12 days.

Funeral services will be held in the Hendricks funeral home and in Good Shepherd Lutheran church. Burial will be in South Side cemetery, Clayton, IL.

Mrs. Goertz was born in Columbus township,IL; a daughter of Joseph and Doris Miller Mixer. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran church. She spent most of her life in Columbus and Beverly townships. She was married to George Goertz, Feb. 23, 1910.

Surviving are the husband; a son, Wilbur, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Zelma Syrcle of Baylis, Mrs. Doris Pruett of Maquon and Mrs. Edna Parn and Mrs. Anna Irene Kindhart of Clayton; two brothers, Philip Pfaffenback of Troy, Mo. and William Mixer of Clayton; two sisters, Mrs. Goldia Henning of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Sophia Raley of Pomona, Cal.; 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, Stella, a brother and seven sisters preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Neil Gibson, Elmer Henning, Irvin Brakensiek, Charles Mixer, Thurman Pfaffanback and Faye Main.
