Joseph M. Blau, age 91, of Plain, died on Monday, April 23, 1979 in the Sauk Prairie Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Blau was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine; six daughters, Mrs. Harold (Cecilia) Buelow of North Fort Meyers, Fla., Mrs. Elizabeth Zins of Madison, Mrs. Finas (Marian) Layton of Spring Green, Mrs. Anthony (Catherine) Hausner of Loganville, Mrs. Roy (Margaret) Reeson of Mt. Horeb, Sister Miran Catherine Blau of Baraboo; three sons, Edward J. of Spring Green, Daniel of Plain, Gerald of Waukesha; three brothers, Albert of Prairie du Chien, Anthony and George, both of Plain; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Ostermeyer and Clara Blau, both of Plain; 25 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann. Funeral services were held at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Plain at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 1979. Father Lawrence Keppler officiated.
