Albert Joseph Blau, born February 8, 1898, in Bear Valley in Wisconsin (either Sauk or Richland County) and was the biological son of Anna Gruber and Simon Nachreiner. Anna Gruber married a widow with children, Joseph Blau, on October 5, 1898, in Plain, Wisconsin. Albert was most likely not formally adopted by Joseph Blau. His name was "Nachreiner" on a early census records and "Blau" on later censuses. Albert farmed in Franklin Township in Sauk County, Wisconsin, from 1920 to 1931 at the former George Brey, Sr., farm at S10829 State Road 23. Albert married Petronella "Nellie" Heiser on January 18, 1921, at Plain, Wisconsin. He adopted Marie Walsh, the daughter of his wife. Albert and Petronella divorced about 1947. About 1942, he was an employee of Badger Ordnance Powder Plant south of Baraboo, Wisconsin. Albert married Nellie Jensen after 1947; they were divorced before 1954. Albert married Nell Marie Sliter in 1954 in Platteville, Wisconsin. At that time, Albert worked at the Iowa County Asylum in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. Albert died on September 25, 1979, at Lancaster Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, Wisconsin. He was buried on September 29, 1979, at Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore, Grant County, Wisconsin.
