Arthur C McAlpin Sr. passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the age of 87. He was born to Rev. Z. B. and Pearl (Rankin) McAlpin on September 6, 1933, in Sunflower County, MS.

As a treasured member of First Baptist Church of Magee, he taught Sunday school, was a part of the accounting committee, and the communion committee. He lived his life as Christ had. He loved people and put them ahead of himself. Arthur was an Army veteran and a member of the Magee Masonic Lodge. His memory will always be in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie (Bishop) McAlpin; sons, Arthur (Art) C McAlpin Jr. (Lori), B.J. McAlpin (Marlana); daughter, Angelia Woodward (Doug); sisters, Nevis Womack, Betty Jean Ratliff; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, L.C. McAlpin, Bill McAlpin; sisters, Novis Jones and Bonnie Bill Womack.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at First Baptist Church of Magee on Friday, July 23, 2021, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. The service will begin at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Magee with Bro. B.J. McAlpin, Bro. Buddy Keys, Bro. Richie Womack, and Bro. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Cemetery.
