L.C. McAlpin, 68, of Magee, retired supervisor, died Saturday, September 16, 1995, of heart failure at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Services were 10 a.m., Monday, September 18, at First Baptist Church in Magee with burial in Sharon Cemetery.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee handled the arrangements.

Mr. McAlpin was a native of Simpson County, deacon at First Baptist Church of Magee, past president of Magee Co-op Board, chairman of ASCS County Committee, Simpson County Board of Supervisors for 16 years and served as president of Simpson County Board of Supervisors for 8 years. He was a member of Farm Bureau Board and was one of the original stock holders with Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

Survivors include wife, Leona McAlpin of Mendenhall; son, Thomas Z. McAlpin of Magee; daughter, Deborah M. Fryery of Meridian; brothers, Z.B. McAlpin of Florence, Arthur C. McAlpin of Magee; sisters, Novis Jones of Brandon, Nevis Womack, Bonnie Villia Womack, both of Magee, Betty Jean Ratliff of Petal; and 4 grandchildren.
