NORMA'S OBITUARY
Norma Jean Jones of Muncie, Indiana passed away at home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 88 the morning of Wednesday, July 7, 2021. She was born on February 27, 1933 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Burl and Helen (Miller) Roberts.
Norma married Fordie R. Jones in 1949. They made their way from Stearns, Kentucky to Muncie, Indiana in 1952. Norma spent her days caring for Fordie and their eight children. Norma was loved by all and will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and mother-in-law. She was an active member of Memorial United Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana for over 65 years. She loved her church family.
Norma is survived by five sons, Doyle Jones and Don Jones (Peggy) of Muncie, Indiana, Bruce Jones of Inman, South Carolina, Blaine Jones of Muncie, Indiana, and Mark Jones (Amy) of Gaston, Indiana; three daughters, Kathy Sandifar of Winchester, Indiana, Karen McKinley (Joe) of Anderson, Indiana, and Melissa "Missy" Napier (Carl) of Pendleton, Indiana; twenty grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Helen (Miller) Roberts; her husband, Fordie R. Jones; two sons-in-law, Stephen Sandifar and Dwayne Watters; one brother, Herstell Roberts; and seven sisters, Elsie Kidd, Jessie Wilson, Dorothy Dobbs, Mary Prater, Juanita Caldwell, Carol Taulbee, and Shirley Stacy.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home, officiated by Chris Black and Ronnie Black. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com.
