Dorothy Irene Roberts Dobbs, age 85, was born in Wayne County , May 19, 1925 the daughter of the late Burl D. and Helen J. Miller Roberts. She departed this life, Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital . She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Dobbs who passed away July 20, 1968. To this union six children survive : Jim D. Dobbs of Brownstown , Indiana ; Anna F. Hodge of Norman , Indiana ; Terry L, Dobbs of Monticello ; Steve F. Dobbs and Connie L. Bales both of Somerset , Kentucky and Ruby L. Dobbs of Muncie , Indiana . Two children precede her in death; and infant daughter, Vera Marie Dobbs and an eleven year old son, Paul Anthony Dobbs. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren : three sisters, Jessie Wilson of Monticello, Juanita Caldwell of New Castle, Indiana and Norma Jean Jones of Muncie, Indiana, with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She is preceded in death by several siblings, Herstell Roberts, Shirley Stacy, Mary Prater, Elsie Kidd and Carol Taulbee. Mrs. Dobbs had accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Somerset. The funeral service will be held 1PM Thursday afternoon in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joe Cox officiating, burial in the Carl Kidd Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 Wednesday and Thursday until service time.
