Delmar Nevan Remy was the third of 13 children born on the family farm outside of McArthur in Vinton County, Ohio to Hollace and (Clara) Alice (Moss) Remy. He was a Sergeant in the US Army Air Forces (Air Corps) in WWII. He enlisted at Patterson Air Field (Wright-Patt AFB) on 10 Sep 1942. He was co-owner of Remy Sheet Metal, a business he started with his brothers Francis Eugene (Gene) Remy and Clarence Remy in 1957. He met and married his wife while a young lad in McArthur. They were avid golfers and took time to enjoy the courses in Florida in their retirement years. Nevan had the gift of gab and there was never a lull in the conversation when he was around. His siblings remember him as having a good heart and a keen mind with a great memory for details. He was also an expert die maker. Being able to work hands on with tools and making quick mental calculations were true assets for running a sheet metal business.
