A chapel service was held Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend James Marlar officiating. Burial was in Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Farmington. Taylor Funeral Services, Inc. handled the arrangements.
She was born February 10, 1920, in Ste. Genevieve, a daughter of George Washington and Permelia Ann (Bowling) Smith.
She was married to Reginald David Ramsey and he preceded her in death in 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra K. Stuart of Farmington; a son, David W. Ramsey and his wife, Kathe M., of Perryville; a sister, Alma Scott of Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also is survived by four grandchildren–Dr. Michelle (Mrs. Chuck) Durham, stationed at Fairford Air Force Base, England; Celeste (Mrs. Marc) Spickert of Centralia, Missouri; Jeff A. Stuart and his wife, Diana, and Christy (Mrs. Tim) Barnes, both of Farmington; and the following great-grandchildren–Molly and Kyle Barnes and Christopher and Katie Stuart, all of Farmington, and forthcoming baby Durham of England.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Catherine Ramsey, Leona Westmeyer, Addie Watson, Susie Rhodes, Maymie Ragsdale and Luvinia Cross; two brothers, Lawrence Smith and George Washington Smith; a half-sister, Minnie Johnson; and five half-brothers, Walter Smith, Zeno Smith, Gus Smith, Pleasant George Smith and Harlan Bowling.
Mrs. Ramsey was a retiree of the Farmington Presbyterian Manor. She was a member of Delassus Baptist church.
The family requests memorials to the Delassus Baptist Church Building Fund.
