Early Settler Passes Away as Result
of Consumption.

A. L. Kincade
, more commonly known as "Link" Kincade, died at his home near Badger Friday night at 10 o'clock after a lingering illness of several years' duration from miners' consumption.

He was one of the early settlers of Galena and was well known. He was a charter member of the Galena volunteer fire department, also a member of the Select Knights and Ladies.

He is survived by his widow and three sons, besides his aged mother, one brother Clyte (sic) Kincade, and three sisters, Mrs. S. E. Beers, Mrs. Bell McIntyre, and Miss Sadie Kincade of St. Louis.

The funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence of his mother at 914 East Sixth street and interment will be made in the Galena cemetery. Rev. S. Johnson of Joplin will officiate.

1900 in Galena--Abraham Kinkade, with wife Evaline R., sons Albert L., Olan C., Lessly, and Uncle Clay.

1910 in Shawnee, Cherokee, Kansas--Abraham L. Kinkade, Eva R., Albert L., Olin C., Leslie D.

His wife, Eva's obit from 1923, has name spelled Kinkade.

His son: Albert Lincoln Kinkade #27325658
His son: Olin C. Kinkade #31405719

It would appear that the correct spelling of his last name was KINKADE. The obit got it wrong in the Joplin paper because it was wrong in the Galena paper.
