He was born in Richlands, Virginia; son of the late J. H. and Eunice Sisk Griffith.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Virginia Bolton Griffith on October 19, 2011; one son, James Blaine Griffith; seven brothers; and two sisters.
He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and he was retired from Holston Ammunition Plant.
He is survived by six daughters, Ann Gray of Castlewood, Virginia, Beth Marshall and husband, Grant of Castlewood, Virginia, Sue Tester and husband, Ken of Jonesboro, Tennessee, Jeannie Burton of Castlewood, Virginia, Kathy Parsell and husband, Chuck of Castlewood, Virginia, Caroline Klempa of Castlewood, Virginia; one son, Robert Griffith and wife, Lisa of Castlewood, Virginia; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service may be conducted at a later date.
