CENTERBURG — Edward A. Griffith Sr., 86, of Centerburg died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at his home.

He was retired from American National Can Co. in Mount Vernon, and was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II.

Surviving are a son, Edward A. Griffith Jr. of Centerburg; grandchildren, Kimberley (Nathan) Pence of Jacksonville, N.C., Edward A. (Lesley) Griffith III of Glasgow, Ky., David (Kathi) Griffith of Centerburg and Jason (Lisa) Griffith of Jacksonville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Kari, Joshaua, Jace, Makaila, Ty, Dakota, Jason, Tasha, Aaron and Tiffany; brothers, Robert of Castlewood, Va., and Raymond of Bluefield, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia J. Griffith; sisters, Lucy Nash and Caroline Raines; brothers, Walter, Warren, Don and Jack Griffith.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church St., Centerburg, where service will be Monday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. Elder Vance Jones will officiate. Interment will be in Rich Hill Cemetery.
