MRS. RUDY DIES AFTER ILLNESS HERE.
DAUGHTER OF RUSTON FOUNDER MOVED TO SHREVEPORT IN 1900.
Mrs. Jessie Rudy, daughter of a pioneer North Louisiana resident, who founded the city of Ruston, died in a local hospital yesterday morning after a brief illness.
Mrs. Rudy was 79, and had lived in Shreveport since 1900, having been born in Ruston. She was the daughter of Robert E. Russ, of Ruston, and a widow of M. S. Rudy, of Shreveport.
She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Roy C. Berry of Shreveport, and Mrs. Jessie W. Lane of Missouri Valley, Iowa; a son, M. S. Rudy Jr. of Houston, Tex., a sister, Mrs. Cornelia Russ Jimerson, of Shreveport, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rudy was a charter member of King's Highway Christian Church and was very active in church activities.
Funeral services will be held today at 4 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be conducted by Rev. William E. Wright, pastor of the Kings Highway Christian Church, and Dr. E. H. Reed, retired pastor of the church.
Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be George W. Hardy, J. O. Van Dyke, F. X. Pillert, Charles Ravenna, Leo Hess and Charles Schober. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and elders of the Kings Highway Christian Church.
