Obituary:
Tallulah, La., May 9 — Judge Robert L. Russ, 83, well-known resident of Tallulah for many years, died at Mercy hospital in Vicksburg Sunday. He was born in Ruston, the son of the late R. E. Russ, founder of the town of Ruston.

He was a former plantation manager, justice of the peace in Madison parish for 30 years and was a buyer of furs and other products. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at 5 p.m. Monday with the Rev. John F. Kilpatrick officiating, assisted by the Rev. Shirley Briggs. Burial was in Silver Cross cemetery here.

Mr. Russ is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary Sneed, Spartanburg, S.C., Mrs. Mae Curtis and Mrs. J. W. Rogillio of Tallulah; a son, R. E. Russ, Tallulah; two sisters, Mrs. Cornelia Jimmerson, Ruston; Mrs. Jessie Rudy, Shreveport; two brothers, Julian Russ, Monroe; George Russ, Conroe, Tex.
