Erlenne Morrison Sanders

Funeral services for Erlenne V. Morrison Sanders were held Feb. 10, 2021, at Minco First Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Luster officiating. Burial followed at Union City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Erlenne was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Union City to Earl and Marie Morrison. She owned and operated Erlenne’s Beauty Shop in Union City for 30 years.

Being part of Union City all of her life, she dearly loved her town and the families and friends residing there.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She also served on the Union City Women’s Fire Auxiliary. She lived for her family, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing and needlepoint.

Erlenne married Billy Ray Sanders on March 20, 1948.

They were married for 66 years until his passing in 2015. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Linda Raylene Garner (deceased) of Union City and Brenda Lea Miller of Minco.

Linda preceded her mother’s death due to a tragic accident occurring in 2015. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Earl and Marie Morrison; sisters, Joretta Morrison, Myrna Oldham, Evelyn Lair, Judy Owen and Carol Stevens; and one brother, Eddie Dean Morrison.

Erlenne is survived by her daughter, Brenda Miller and son-in-law, Allen of Minco; son-in-law, Wayne Garner of Union City; grandchildren and their spouses, Bill Garner and wife, Melanie of Moore, Ginger Brooks and husband, Marlow of Union City, Alanna Bird and husband, Curtis of Westminster, Colo., Dale Miller and wife, Deah of Union City and Matthew Miller and wife, Ali of El Reno; great-grandchildren, Megan Jefferies and husband, Dalton, Jake Allred, Gavin, MaCallister and Connor Garner, Micah and Elijah Bird, Daigan and Dage Miller and Kaidence, Radley and Hazel Miller; and one great-great-grandchild, Olivia Jefferies. Surviving siblings include Edwenna Sanders of Union City, Donald Earl Morrsion of Eufaula, Twila Boyd of Oklahoma City and Betty Davis of Mustang.
