Joseph Hagins was son of Col. William Hagins and Mary Patton. Joseph Hagins married Margery Morrow the daughter of David Morrow and Martha Brashear ; Joseph was a brother-in-law to James McKnight Morrow who is also buried at Old Six Mile Cemetery. The known family of Joseph and Margery Morrow Hagins : Mary Patton Hagins, Elizabeth Hagins, John Tuit Hagins, James Morrow Hagins, Margery Hagins, David Hagins, William Hagins and two unknown sons, probably infant sons.
Died at age 43 years.

The wound of Joseph Hagins occurred when his collar bone was split by a British saber, according to his grandson, Dr. J.J. Hagins.
