I have pulled together several of the documents I have collected about William Hagins Sr. of Lancaster Co. SC and Mecklenburg Co. NC.I'll send this information in three parts.I apologize for the formatting.

The following information is from the Nancy Crockett Collection in the South Caroliniana Library at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.The informationcollected and in 1998 submitted to Crockett by William Boyce White of Roanoke VA.

Col. William Hagins*, renowned soldier of the AmericanRevolution, was born c. 1727 in Northern Ireland and died in Mecklenburg County, NC in 1790.[I will attach copy of March 10, 1873 letter to L. C. Draper from Robert Jefferson Hagins.***William Hagins lived on the Tar Kiln Branch now in NE portion of Lancaster County SC and is buried in Six Mile Church Cemetery in that county.. His will was probated in Mecklenburg Co, NC.]He was married c.1750-53 to Mary Patton, daughter of Matthew and Elizabeth Patton of Anson County, NC.She was born c 1727 and died in 1808.[Her will was probated in York County, SC.******]

E.Jane McE. HaginsBorn 1809; died 1895; married first on December. 18, 1823 to Alexander Faris; married second to David S. Patton, as his second wife; married third to ____ Whitesides; buried at Neely’s Creek A. R. P. Churchyard.
F.Martha HaginsMarried on March 11, 1839 to Rev. Eleazer Harris who removed to Tennessee.

II. John HaginsBorn c. 1758; died before August 09, 1807; married Elizabeth ____ who died before her husband.

III. Sarah HaginsBorn c. 1760; married in 1779 to William Crye [William Crye, a Revolutionary soldier, born 1754 on the Isle of Man, eventually moved to Tennessee.[Attached find a copy of his pension papers. *****]

William Hagins, the progenitor probably has a brother John Hagins who married Elizabeth ____ .John Hagins received a Royal land grant in Mecklenburg County, NCon November 16, 1764.The land was situated on Twelve Mile Creek.He also owned land in what became Chester County, SC. (Chester Deed Book D, p, 328.)John and Elizabeth Hagins of Chester County, SC to Benjamin Rives of SC on September 18, 1794.[From Crockett Collection]


**Please Note:Maggie E. McLaughlin, Mrs. Joseph Hagins; and Julia McLaughlin, Mrs. Robert Jefferson Hagins had two sister: 1)Annie M. McLaughlin married H. C. Cox on January 03, 1884.He died September 04, 1906; 2)____McLaughlin married F. E. Ardrey.These McLaughlin sisters were daughters of ____McLaughlin who died in 1861 (CSA) and his wife Eliza Lucinda (McCall) McLaughlin who died May 29, 1914 at age of 80 years.
