enlisted 10 months- Rowan CO NC- under Capt. Johnston- ( could this be Capt. Johnston
with tax list 1778 Rowan CO NC ) in Regi, of Capt. Francis Locke NC Line.
This enlistment was to serve out the term of enlistment of JOHN ELLIS in said Regi.
William Higgins was also known as William Hagins. He was born on 25 June 1759 at
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He married Polly Linville. Marriage: 1790, Rowan
County, North Carolina; one source states 1794.
William Higgins died on 8 September 1833 at Breathitt County, Kentucky, at age 74.
Other sources show died 1840, not 1833 at Quicksand Creek, Breathitt Co.
