Excerpt -- Ray Elisha Whetsell, 79, of 8810 Maple Ave., Fontana, died Saturday at his home. He was a native of Kingwood, W.Va., and a Fontana resident for 16 years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, and World War I Veterans Barracks 386, Fontana. He is survived by his widow, Gertrude, Fontana; a son, Mervin, Bloomington; a daughter, Mrs. Bernice Miller, Fontana; three brothers, Joseph of Roanoke, Va., Isaac of Oregon, Custer of Parkersburg, W.Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Taylor of Richmond, Va., Mrs. Vivian Elliott of Detriot, Mich., and Mrs. Edna Phillips of Carthage, Tex. Services were held Monday at Ingold Chapel. Interment in Oakdale Cemetery, Glendora.
