Excerpt -- Carl, son of Elias Whetsell, died of pneumonia fever March 14, 1898, aged 10 years, 7 months and 13 days. Carl was a noble boy of more than ordinary intelligence. He was conscious until the last. During his illness he professed faith in Christ, and thus while he has been taken from the loving embrace of fond parents, who greatly miss him here, we believe he has gone to join the blood washed company in Heaven, and to clasp the glad hand of his little brother who preceded him about three years ago. The family has the sympathy of the entire community. May God bless and comfort them in the time of their sore bereavement. -- Henry E. Friend
