Ralph E. Bash, 92, of Findlay passed away at The Heritage Manor on Monday, January 30, 2017. He was born in Findlay on Sept. 28, 1924 to the late David W. and Bessie (Murray) Bash. On Aug. 17, 1946, he married Jeanette Croy and she preceded him in death on December 3, 1979. He is survived by three children: Steven R. (Mila) Bash of Findlay; Dennis M. (Anne) Bash of Surprise, AZ and Debbie Dee Fox of Findlay. Grandchildren, Charity Hensley; Jennifer Packey; Joshua Fox; Christine Lynn Chamberlin; Nicholas Edward Bash; Ethan James Houdeshell; Zoe Anne Houdeshell; Karalina Madison Linn; Dakota James Chamberlin. Great-grandchildren include Karalina Madison Linn; Dakota James Chamberlin; Abigail; Alexia; Serenity; Elisha; Colton and Nolan. Great-great granddaughter, Arya. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph "Joey" Bash; brothers, Murray; Medford; Marvin; Melvin; Delmar; Wayne; and a sister, Faye Thorton. Ralph served his country during WWII active in the US Navy as a coxswain aboard the USS Shangri La CVA38. He worked as a plaster and drywall contractor and held memberships with the American Legion; D.A.V.; V.F.W.; AMVETS and Howard United Methodist Church. He also coordinated the donor program for the American Legion baseball for many years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service (10:00-11:00 a.m.) Saturday at the funeral home.
