Arthur E. Frontz, 52, of LaCroft, took his own life by hanging in the cellar of his home late Thrusday night or early today, police reported.
His body was discovered at approximately 12:53 this morning by his brother, Patrolman Howard Frontz. Patrolman Frontz said he received several telephone calls from his brother as he was preparing to report for duty on the midnight shift at headquaters. After arriving at the station, he obtained permission from Lt. Clyde W. Boso, officer in charge to drive a couple of blocks outside the city to find if his brother was all right. Lt. Boso accompanied the patrolman and remained in the cruiser while he went into his brother's home.
In a few mintues, Officer Frontz ran outside and reported his brother had hanged himself. Lt. Boso summoned an ambulance and a fire department respirator and later notified Dr. Roy C. Costello, deputy county coroner. A report also was given to the sheriff's office.
A Marine Corps veteran in World War II, Mr. Frontz was born in Wellsville Oct. 7, 1911, to the late W. Edward Frontz and Rose Springer Frontz, and resided in the vicintiy his lifetime.
He was a turn foreman in the cold strip department of the Midland Works of the Crucible Steel Company where he had been employed since 1951.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Sue Nease Frontz; two daughters, Mrs. Sondra Stephens of Vernon, KY., and Mrs. Arlene Bickle of East Liverpool; a sister Mrs. Lawrence Howell of East Liverpool; three other brothers, William E. Forntz and James D. Frontz of East Liverpool, and Charles L. Frontz of Falls Church, Virginia and two grandchildren.
