Herman L. Sands -
Bill Sands, 5 West 4th Street here, received word Feb. 13, of the death of his brother, Herman L. Sands of Luttrell, Tennessee. He was 63 years old. Survivors are the wife, Luevine; daughters, Mrs. Ruby Oxendine Wasburn; sons Dewey, Carl of Knoxville, Lee Thomas of Corryton, and stepson, Edgar Lynch of Maynardsville; sisters, Mrs. Pearl Haynes and Mrs. Myrtle Newcomb of Knoxville, Mrs. Dewey Bates and Mrs. Lucy Bates of Kokomo, Indiana, Mrs. Lulla Bates of Maynardsville; brothers Cleo of Maynardsville and Bill of Cambridge City, Indiana.

Herman moved to Cambridge City, Indiana mid 1948 and lived there about a year. The National Road Traveler had an article dated 7/14/1949 saying he moved back on Saturday. (to Tennessee) He moved his family there and worked at the Farmer Feeder. Herman’s WW I draft registration lists him as having blue eyes, dark brown hair, medium height and stout built, present Trade Farmer. Listed a disability, but none was given on registration card.
