Newton Haynie, a retired farmer of the Mimosa community, died Wednesday at Lincoln County Hospital following a brief illness. He was 85 years old.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Higgins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Leslie Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
A native of Lincoln County, he was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. J. A. Thomas, Mimosa; a stepbrother, Jennings Pamplin, Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.
