Myrtle Morgan, 96, of Hartshorne, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at her home.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery Pavilion in Hartshorne with Father Leonardo Medina officiating. Burial will follow.

She was born on January 25, 1924 in Haileyville, Oklahoma to Cleveland and Fannie Leigh (James) Sweet. She was a lifelong resident of this area and married Clarence C. Morgan on April 11, 1941 at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. She retired from Jones Academy three separate times. She enjoyed going to football games and going to the casino. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hartshorne.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Mary Morgan of Hartshorne, Charley Morgan of Holdenville, Clarence and Linda Morgan of McAlester, Frankie and Linda Morgan of McAlester, Mathew Morgan of Haileyville, Ricky Morgan of Adamson and David Morgan of Hartshorne; daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Kuykendall of Haileyville, Katy Kenney of Spiro, Lynnette and Bill Emberton of Hartshorne; brother, James Leigh of Owasso; brother-in-law, James Montgomery; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. Morgan; parents, Cleveland and Fannie Leigh Sweet; siblings, Billy Montgomery, Bernice Robinson, Bobby Sweet, Eugene Sweet, Orville Leigh and Harvey Sweet; daughter-in-law, Justene Morgan; son-in-law, David Kuykendall; grandchildren, John and Dana Morgan; great-granddaughter, Jordan Teafatiller and a nephew, John Vincent Miller.
