Matthews – Jimmie Alford, age 82, passed away on October 9, 2020 at his home in Matthews, MO. He was born May 22, 1938 in Blytheville, AR., to the late Jimmie and Annie Mae Wicker Alford. On May 27, 1960 in East Prairie, MO., he married Wilma Davis Alford, who survives of the home in Matthews, MO. He retired from Malone and Hyde in Sikeston, MO. as a mechanic after twenty-five years of service. Other survivors include two sons, Jimmy Alford of Memphis, TN. and Donnie Alford of Matthews, MO.; one daughter, Sherry Hart of Matthews, MO.; one brother, Frank Alford of Hot Springs, AR.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO., pastor Frank Worthington, of Compassion Church in Sikeston, MO., officiating. Pallbearers will be Donald Hart Jr., Justin Hart, Benjamin Alford, Michael Hart, Donald Hart III and Don Hart Sr. Burial will follow at the Matthews City Cemetery in Matthews, MO.
