First off you would have to understand my mother. She is NOSEY.
The first thing she did when she married into the Dulaney family was go visit my Great Grandmother, Wonnie Flora Addington Plunkett (her daughter is my grandmother- Dorothy Janell "Nell" Plunkett Dulaney).

They had one thing in common- both were born on December 15th. Mamaw Wonnie up until her death sent a birthday card every year to my mom. My mom would call her every year to wish her happy birthday.

Mom said Mamaw Wonnie was as sharp as a tack. They would sit at the kitchen table for hours talking genealogy. Papaw Clarence would take care of me and my baby brother in the living room. He would get down the old metal trucks and tractors and watch us play on the floor. Sometimes he would take us outside and watch us play in the yard. He would cook salmon pattys for our lunch.

Mamaw Wonnie could remember everyone of her siblings birth-date and full name every time. Mom said she would ask the same question sometime weeks apart and Mamaw Wonnie had the same dates and full names every time.
She always mentioned her sisters- Velma Trudy Addington born February 27, 1913 -died on July 9, 1918 about 4 years old and Dorthy Kathleen Addington born June 29, 1931- died on September 30, 1932 about 15 months old. Mom said Mamaw Wonnie told about having to take care of Dorothy Kathleen as a young girl and how it upset her when she died. She also said she remembered Velma Trudy as a sister she played with and she missed her. She didn't remember her as much as Dorothy but she did remember playing with her. Velma Trudy and Dorthy Kathleen are both mentioned in the obituaries of their brothers and sister, Dow Addington, Dexter Dean Addington , Zora Mae Addington Hughes and Velda Lucille Addington . In February 2000 my Mamaw Wonnie's obituary did not include preceded in death listings.
These two sisters were missed by all and I felt they should not be forgotten . Now with this memorial they will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.
