Frank McClelland

Frank McClelland, son of Robert and Esther Langdon McClelland, was born October 10, 1867 at Battle Creek, Michigan, and passed away at his home near Maple Hill, February 18, 1955. He was 87 years, 4 months and 8 days old. He had lived in the Maple Hill community for 78 years.

Mr. McClelland was a member of the Maple Hill Community Church and the Masonic Lodge No. 307 A F and A M.

On January 20, 1889, he was united in marriage to Mattie Daily at Topeka, Kansas. To this union seven children were born.
He is survived by his wife, Mattie of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Hattie Wilson of the home; six sons, Robert of Las Vegas, New Mexico; Paul and George of Maple Hill, James of Sulphur, Oklahoma, Joseph of Topeka and Donald of the home; 23 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Monday, February 21 at the Maple Hill Community Church. The minister, Rev. Robert Gurtler, conducted the service. Pianist Mrs. Raymond Brethour played for Mrs. Arthur Adams and Mrs. Howard Hammarlund who sang "The City Four Square," and "Blessed Be The Tie." The pall bearers were Arthur Heck, Clifford Smiley, Francis Deiter, Don Raine, Edwin Thompson and Glen Crayton.

Interment was in the Eskridge Cemetery. Austin Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
