Robert McClelland died last Thursday at his home in Topeka after a long illness. He was 76 years old.

Mr. McClelland was born in Erie, Pa., and came to Kansas from Erie in 1875. For 20 years he was a locomotive engineer on the Erie railroad between Erie and Buffalo.

He was a member of one of the Pennsylvania regiments during the Civil war. After moving his family to his farm near Maple Hill he entered the service of the Santa Fe, there he continued until ten years ago.In all his railroad career he was never in a serious accident.

Mr. McClelland is survived by his daughter, Mrs. J.N. Dolley of Topeka, and his son, Frank McClelland of Maple Hill.

The funeral service was held at Maple Hill at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The Topeka Knights Templar held services in Topeka at 11 o'clock Sunday, after which the remains were brought to Maple Hill where services were held in the Congregational church, Rev. W.L. Goldsmith delivering a fine sermon.

The Masonic brethren took charge at the cemetery and gave him a fraternal farewell about 50 being in the procession.
