Last rites for Mrs. Sue Herring Hammonds, 80, were held at the First Baptist Church in Winona on Wednesday, August 15, at four o'clock. The Rev. R. S. Lowe, assisted by the Rev. C. B. Hamlet, conducted the services. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Hamer, Bob Holiman, Weldon Bruns, Bob White, Glenn Johnson, Arnold Jacks, Clois Strahan and George Flowers.
Mrs. Hammonds was born in Kosciusko on August 5th, 1871, and was married to Frank Hammonds who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Kilmichael Baptist Church.
She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sam Noble, in Winona, on August 14.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Earl Moore of Duck Hill, Mrs. M. H. Johnson and Mrs. Sam Noble of Winona, and Mrs. L. W. Hughes of Kosciusko, and five sons, Abner Hammonds and Frank Hammonds of Marks, Arnold Hammonds and Robert Hammonds of Winona, and James Hammonds of Houston, Texas. She also leaves one brother, I. A. Herring of Kosciusko.
