LAMPASAS (SNS) -- Roy Lackey, 88, longtime West Texas sheep breeder, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with burial in Sherwood Cemetery.
Mr. Lackey was born Dec. 23, 1885 in Sherwood in Irion County, ranched and was a rambouillet sheep breeder in Irion, Edwards, Kinney, Terrell, Brewster and Lampasas counties. He was married to Vina Stinebaugh June 7, 1905 in San Angelo and was later married to Emma Coleman.
Survivors include two sons Roy Lackey Jr. of Lampasas and Gerald Lackey of San Angelo; a daughter, Mrs. Clifton C. Belcher of San Angelo; two sisters, Mrs. E. M. James of Fort Stockton and Mrs. Doyle C. Maddux of Uvalde; a brother, Edgar Lackey of Washington; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
