Pursuant to the WPA survey and Iowa Cemetery records, which have the year 1932 instead, and list her as Ona Smith at Lot 271 1/2. This has caused confusion with Viona Smith in Decatur County.

Obituary - Ona Marie Snethen.
Funeral services for Ona Marie Snethen, brief mention of whose death was made in the Record-News last week, were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Baptist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Lester O. Hooks, and burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
Ona Marie Snethen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Snethen, was born at Pleasanton, Iowa, May 13, 1919, and passed away at her home in Mount Ayr Wednesday, April 12, aged 13 years, 10 months and 29 days. She leaves to mourn her departure her father and mother, one brother and six sisters, her grandparents and a host of other relatives and friends.
Most of her school days were spent in the rural schools until a year ago, when the family moved to Mount Ayr and she attended the Mount Ayr public school. She was a favorite among her school acquaintances, always cheerful and loving.
In the home she was obedient and loving and a constant companion for the other children.
She will not only be greatly missed by the family but by all her friends and schoolmates.
