J. Nelson Dies, LDS Leader
John A. Nelson, 74, 921 Ave B, Valley View Add'n, a Latter-Day Saints leader and an insurance man died late Monday morning at a local hospital after a short illness.
Funeral Services will be from the Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints, 16 14th Street South. Thursday afternoon at 2 with Bishop James J. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Nelson was born Sept 13, 1889, in Smithfield, Utah. When he was two the family moved to Cardston, Alberta, where he spent his early youth and received his schooling.
He was married to Martha Vera Wilcox, Jan 1, 1917, at Raymond, Alta and came to Montana in 1923.
Survivors include his wife, four sons, three daughters, four brothers, three sisters, 36 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
