Daniel Cameron "D. C." was one of nine children of Daniel Conrad Jenkins & Miscal Aura Carter Jenkins. He married Alma Virginia Blosser on October 28, 1940 in Arlington, VA. During the 1940s & 1950s, D. C. traveled to several foreign countries where he worked as a heavy equipment operator on several highway and airport construction projects. During World War II, he had to take time off from his work to serve in the US Army. After his brother Wilmer was killed in a plane crash in 1955, he took over his brother's plumbing and heating business which he owned for about 30 years. From 1975 to 1990, D. C. was the Superintendent of Public Works for the town of Kilmarnock, VA. He loved singing and playing the piano. D. C. and Alma have two children, Gary Lee Jenkins and Merry Elizabeth Jenkins Carlson.

D. C. Jenkins, 74, of Kilmarnock, retired superintendent of public works of the town of Kilmarnock, died February 6, 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alma V. Jenkins; one son, Gary L. Jenkins of Kilmarnock; one daughter, Merry Beth Jenkins of Kilmarnock; one great niece, Theresa Potter of Kilmarnock; one great nephew, Donnie Potter of Kilmarnock, and two sisters, Gleniss Crowther of Kilmarnock and Lila Rose of White Stone.
Funeral services were held Monday at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, with interment in the Seventh-day Adventist Church Cemetery, Kilmarnock. Pastor Eric Annandale and Pastor David Dunkinson officiated. Pallbearers were Steve Haynie, Paul Fink, Richard Crowther, Keith White, Michael Smith, James Burns, Danny Rose and Earl Lee.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Church Improvement Fund.
