Oleta Amelia was one of nine children of Daniel Conrad Jenkins & Miscal Aura Carter Jenkins. Oleta married Charles Kenneth DeMar on April 4, 1931 in Washington, D. C. They divorced after a short marriage. She joined the Womens Army Corps during WWII and spent some time overseas. While in Egypt she married Lawrence Basil Havelock in July 1945. The couple had no children.

Obituary:

Mrs. Oleta Jenkins Havelock, 73, formerly of Kilmarnock and Colorado Springs, Colo., died December 7 in the Verterans Administration Medical Center in Hampton.
She is survived by a brother, D.C. Jenkins, Jr. of Kilmarnock, and three sisters, Gleniss Crowther and Mavis Haynie of Kilmarnock and Lila Rose of Foxwells.
Mrs. Havelock was employed by the Federal Government for several years prior to serving in the WAC in both Europe and North Africa during World War II.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Wheeler and Thompson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, followed by a Military Funeral on December 9 in the National Cemetery in Culpeper.
